Discovering Bromborough is organised by three core members of the Big Heritage team.
JOANNE KIRTON – Project Manager
Jo is an experienced field archaeologist who has been working on survey and excavation projects for the last ten years. She has a first class honours degree and Masters in Historical Archaeology from Durham University and she is currently working towards her doctorate in archaeology, focusing on the early medieval landscape and sculpture of Cheshire. She also works as a visiting lecturer at the University of Chester, teaching first year undergraduates the skills required to undertake practical archaeology.
Jo has worked on a number of community and research projects across the UK and Europe and will bring this experience to bear in the forthcoming Moats and Manors project. Her role will primarily revolve around organising the archaeological fieldwork, liaising and teaching the volunteers, finds processing and producing the research and final report for the project.
